What was the Last movie you seen?

I just had the plot of Shutter Island fucking ruined for me by some fucking dickhead on the internet. I was really looking forward to seeing it. I still will, but it's ruined for me...

Just saw Avatar. Fucking legend. Must be one of the best films I've ever seen. Powerful and just great.

Went on a movie spree.

Watched Dorian Gray, Hurt Locker, The Hunger, and then one other movie I can't think of at the moment.

The Hurt Locker won best picture, but imo, the movie took a dive in implausibility at some points.

District 9 was probably the most qualified for Best Picture. I guess I'm just glad Avatar did not win, because Jim Cameron's next film is going to be infinitely more intuitive and original. If anyone has seen The Last Samurai or Dances With Wolves, you know every plot detail to a T in Avatar. Avatar was a cinematic feast and Sam Worthington and Stephen Lang are always excellent, but it doesn't have much re-watch value since I really wished the story had turned out differently.

Was it just me, or did Avatar feel like a movie that tried to portray how the Europeans acted towards Native Americans. Nearly every scene, every talk, every detail about Avatar had some basis in Native Americans and the expansion of Europeans and the US.

I think it portayed the basics of all colonial expansion, not just that of America by the Europeans. It's definitely not a new story, but it's one that works.

It just had so much that was obviously taken from Native Americans. They even tried to implement the Trail of Tears in the movie as well

Watched "From Rome with Love" last night with John Travolta..... typical Travolta film.. lots of action, not much story line.. yeahhhh perfect for a monday night
